TightSeal recently completed a roof replacement in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a new client and their lovely ranch-style home. We started by removing layers of old roofing and replacing sections of underlayment and flashing to make the roof more structurally sound. Then we added a high durability grade sealant to the roof to prevent any leaks from outside conditions. Although this roof wasn’t leaking it is still very necessary to add sealant because, if the roof gets replaced with no new sealant the roof could end up having leaks in it which could let rain water into the ceiling of the home and cause water damage. So, overall its better to have the added protections as they will promote long lasting usage and resistance to wear and tear over time. We then added new dimension shingles with a 30 year guaranteed warranty. The Old regular 3-tab shingles gave this home a very flat and dated look. The new dimensional shingles, will not only last longer, but they also have two layers of shingle material bonded together, giving this home’s roof a three dimensional appearance that enhances the curb appeal greatly.
