A key part of this commitment is Ernie Gives Back, our ongoing donation program. Every quarter of every year, we use this program to highlight local needs and support deserving organizations.
So, when we got the call from Callie Chiroff at Project Bubaloo, we just knew we had to contribute to their vital work. How did we do this? By making them the focus of our first donation campaign of 2025!
How Ernie Gives Back In Southeastern Wisconsin
At TightSeal Exteriors & Baths, we want to do more than provide quality remodeling services to our local community. In fact, we feel it’s our responsibility. That’s why we created Ernie Gives Back.
Ernie is actually our company mascot. You’ll see his silhouette in the corner of our official logo. When we made the commitment to serve our community in charitable ways, he was a natural choice for the program’s namesake.
How does Ernie Gives Back work? For starters, we look for organizations in Southeastern Wisconsin doing great work for our community and its residents. In the past, these groups have included:
- St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
- Ronald McDonald House Charities
- Hunger Task Force
- Winston’s Wishes
Every three months, we make our chosen organization the focus of a new Ernie Gives Back campaign. For the duration of each campaign, that group receives the proceeds from a promotion we host here at TightSeal.
Potential candidates for the program come to our attention in a variety of ways. In some cases, we receive nominations through the dedicated Ernie Gives Back page on our website. We also receive nominations via word of mouth and through personal contacts.
That’s how we made the connection with Callie at Project Bubaloo.
Personal Tragedy Transformed Into Community Action
Project Bubaloo has very personal roots. In 2017, Callie’s son, Theo James “Bubaloo” Schlicht, was born with multiple genetic heart ailments. Theo’s afflictions were severe, and he only survived for a few months before passing away in March 2018.
Callie knew she wanted to honor her son’s brief life. She also knew she wanted to help other children born with congenital heart defects (CHDs).
So, she created Project Bubaloo.
Over the years, the 501 (c) (3) organization has funded multiple CHD research programs. It has also supported a range of CHD-related educational programs and quality improvement projects.
We knew that Project Bubaloo was a great fit for an Ernie Gives Back campaign. In late 2024, we consulted with Callie and her team.
The end result? A new Ernie Gives Back campaign to mark the start of 2025.
A Contribution For Every Home Remodeling Quote
A lot of thought goes into the promotions we design for Ernie Gives Back. The main goal, of course, is to raise as much money as we can for our chosen group.
And we want to do so in ways that take full advantage of our enduring reputation for exterior and bath remodeling excellence.
After talking it over, we came up with what we feel is a great way to support both goals. Until March 29th, 2025, we’ll donate $15 to Project Bubaloo for every quote we provide on local projects.
The quote itself is free. Whether or not you choose us as your provider, a donation will be made. This means you can support the program at no expense to you and with no further commitment!
